Hewens Primary is part of the family of schools sponsored by The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust. The Trust has a proven track record of success and is responsible for a dramatic upturn in academic achievement locally. In 2018 Hewens Primary school was in the top 4% of schools in the country for its phonics results, and number 1 in Hillingdon for pupil progress in writing at Key Stage Two. It continues to support pupils in achieving well above local and national averages for progress across all key stages.
Hewens Primary has quickly built a reputation which stems from a very caring ethos, being held in high regard by parents, guardians and carers.

The diverse staff mirror the diverse school community and their ability to communicate effectively with the parents is a key strength.
Hewens provides wrap around care in its fullest sense: breakfast club, after school clubs, holiday workshops, fun clubs, transport to and from the ‘Little Marvels Nursery’ all help the working and other parents as well as the children.
The school provides a wealth of enrichment for children and their parents. The school has ‘Literacy Ambassadors, who invite the parents to the ‘Pinning Ceremony,’. Parents are invited to watch the decoration of the school’s Christmas Tree. Celebrations are an intrinsic part of the Hewens ‘ethos.
Early Closure Thursday and Friday This Week at 1:30pm
UPDATED: WEDNESDAY 24TH JUNE 2026 AT 12:30PM
Due to the continued high temperatures, the school will close early at 1:30pm on both Thursday and Friday. This decision has been made to prioritise the health and wellbeing of our school community during the hottest part of the day. We recognise that this adjustment may present challenges for some families. For parents, guardians and carers who are unable to collect their child at this earlier time, please contact the school, as we will be able to provide appropriate supervision and support. We will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and make any necessary adjustments. The health, safety, and wellbeing of our pupils and students remain our highest priority. To support the comfort and wellbeing of all pupils and students, please continue to adhere to the following measures: Blazers and ties are not required • Pupils and students are encouraged to wear their PE kit • Pupils and students should bring a full water bottle to remain hydrated throughout the day • Pupils and students are advised to apply sun cream before they leave for school.
